Uganda Safari: Our Two-week Adventure with Gorillas and Wildlife

By Anna & Sören | Our Uganda safari experience with Naseeb Safaris, February 2026

Uganda Safari: Our Two-week Adventure with Gorillas and Wildlife, Our vacation in Uganda has come to an end, sadly, and we are already looking back on two incredible weeks filled with unforgettable moments and memories. It is difficult to put the whole experience into words, but one thing is certain: we absolutely loved it!

Uganda exceeded our expectations in so many ways. From the incredible wildlife and beautiful landscapes to the wonderful lodges and the people we met along the way, every day brought something special. At one point in Kibale, I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I had to cry because everything was just so wonderful.

This was a journey we will remember for a very long time.

Planning our Uganda safari with Naseeb Safaris

We booked our two-week Uganda safari about seven months in advance. From our very first contact with Naseeb, everything felt well organised. He was prepared, answered all our questions and helped us plan the journey we were looking forward to.

We wanted to experience Uganda’s main highlights, including mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking and wildlife in the country’s national parks. Looking back, the entire trip was organised so perfectly from beginning to end.

We did not have to worry about the arrangements or think about what came next. All we had to do was enjoy ourselves and bring our camera!

That made such a difference. We could concentrate on the experiences, take in our surroundings and enjoy every moment without worrying about the logistics.

Gorilla trekking and chimpanzees: Experiences we will never forget

One of the reasons we chose Uganda was the opportunity to experience its incredible primates, particularly mountain gorillas and chimpanzees.

Gorilla trekking was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. Seeing these magnificent animals in their natural environment is an experience that is difficult to describe to someone who has never done it.

But it was not only the gorillas that made our journey special.

Our time in Kibale was another unforgettable part of the safari. The experience affected me so deeply that I found myself crying because I was overwhelmed with emotion. It is difficult to explain exactly why a moment touches you so much, but sometimes you simply feel it.

These are the kinds of memories that make travelling so special. You can take photographs and tell stories when you return home, but the feelings you experience in those moments are something you carry with you.

Hiking Mount Sabinyo: I reached the first peak, Sören reached the third!

Another highlight of our Uganda adventure was hiking Mount Sabinyo.

It was an incredible experience, although Sören and I had slightly different achievements on the mountain!

I made it to the first peak, while Sören continued all the way to the third peak. I was very proud of him! 💪

Mount Sabinyo gave us a completely different experience from the forests and wildlife parks. It was a chance to challenge ourselves, enjoy the mountain scenery and create another special memory together.

Looking back, I love that our safari included so many different experiences. We were not doing the same thing every day. There was always something new to discover.

All the Big Five in less than eight hours!

One of the most exciting wildlife experiences of our trip was seeing all the Big Five in a single day, in less than eight hours!

Seeing these iconic African animals was an incredible experience, and we felt so fortunate to have such memorable sightings.

Of course, wildlife is unpredictable, and you can never know exactly what each day on safari will bring. That is part of the excitement. Every game drive brings the possibility of discovering something extraordinary.

Our safari gave us so many wonderful wildlife memories, and this was certainly one of them.

Kenny: The guide who made our journey so special

We were fortunate to have Kenny as our safari guide. He did an amazing job of looking after us throughout the trip.

He was professional, spoke very good English and was incredibly thoughtful. Most importantly, our energy matched perfectly, which made travelling together such a pleasure.

Kenny was well organised and made sure we had the opportunity to experience everything we had hoped for. We never felt that we had to worry about planning the next step or making arrangements ourselves.

But what made him particularly special were the little things he did along the way.

He would stop for fresh pineapple, arrange a sundowner picnic and even organise a romantic dinner for us. These thoughtful touches made the trip feel personal and showed how much attention he paid to our experience.

A good safari guide does much more than take you from one place to another. For us, Kenny became an important part of what made the whole journey so memorable.

We could relax, enjoy ourselves and trust that everything was taken care of.

Thank you, Kenny, for making our Uganda safari so special!

Beautiful lodges and wonderful memories

We also loved the lodges throughout our trip. After busy days exploring Uganda, it was wonderful to have comfortable places to relax and enjoy our surroundings.

One of our favourites was Treetops Lodge in Kibale. We have so many lovely memories from our time there, and it was one of the places that really stood out for us.

The accommodation was an important part of the experience, adding comfort and enjoyment to our journey between the different destinations.

When we think back on our two weeks in Uganda, it is difficult to choose a single favourite place or activity. Gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, Mount Sabinyo, the wildlife and all the little surprises along the way each gave us something different.

Perhaps that is what made the trip so wonderful: it was the combination of everything.

We are going home as ambassadors for Uganda

Uganda is such a beautiful country, and we are leaving with memories that will stay with us for years.

We came for a two-week adventure and experienced so much more than we could have imagined. The wildlife was incredible, the landscapes were beautiful, and the entire journey was organised in a way that allowed us to enjoy every moment.

From the very beginning, Naseeb helped make our plans a reality. Kenny then looked after us throughout the trip and made sure we had an unforgettable experience.

The safari exceeded our expectations, and we are so grateful for everything.

We will certainly be ambassadors for Uganda back home, sharing our stories and encouraging our friends and family to experience this wonderful country for themselves.

Thank you, Naseeb, and thank you, Kenny, for making our holiday so incredible. We absolutely loved it! 👏
